تأسست مدرسة دار جنى العالمية Dar Jana International School في عام 1999 بعدد طلاب متواضع يبلغ 23 طالباً، تمت تسمية المدرسة على اسم جزيرة جنى النائية، والتي تتميز بتنوعها البيولوجي، وهي جوهرة تقع قبالة الساحل الشمالي الشرقي للجبيل. تعتبر مدرسة دار جنى واحدة من أفضل المدارس العالمية المعتمدة في السعودية، التي تؤمن بمبدأ المتعلمين جميعهم لهم حق التعلم في بيئة آمنة وملائمة، ولم يمض وقت طويل قبل أن تتوسع دار جنى من برنامج صغير للطفولة المبكرة إلى مدرسة للبنين والبنات لتلبية الطلب المتزايد على الالتحاق فيها.
